i extracted a loose shaky lateral incisor of a woman.Very easy case..
Then upper 5th BDR of another,it was rct-ed.,tried doing it,then asked
dr.Atta to help,he tried and adviced to do thru bur.I left that
patient and took another patient, extracted her 7th..Opened stitches of
two patients..And finally extracted 6th of one last patient..
8th.12.09
did only two extractions today..I didn't do them,in fact i did the
entries in register only.
Amir handed over the opd slip abruptly to me..Asked to do it.Strange
inflexible style he has..The woman was very jolly, but her tooth a bit
painful, gave her anaesthesia, but still she complained of pain, then
jamil tmo got in action. He gave her aggressive anaesthesia, one hell of
pricks,i felt pity for d woman, but still in vain. And finally he pulled
out the 6th molar in one quick harsh jerk, the pt jumped in
horror,screamed,and started crying like babies.Poor soul..The tooth
had granuloma. So jamil started digging the empty socket for
remnants..She kept screaming and crying..Vomitd many times.Pathetic
scene. Then he gave her figure 8 stitch..I packed the wound..Gave her
instructions..But she was no longer talking the way she did before her
extraction..That was a bitter lesson for her.I guess she'l never take
another risk of extraction in life..Lol.Also she scared al pts around
in ward..
My second patient had 5th bdr,but again jamil did it through
elevator, within few seconds,he was in a rush for presentation.

I extractd 5th of one patient,it was BDR,sethi did it later..I
couldn't do it.A bit depressin ..
Then a loose canine of a hypertensive pt.It was easy..
Then 7th molar of a very nice woman. She praised me even then, that i
got very soft hands.:) and finally 8th of a pregnant woman, she was
complaining of anaesthesia, but later it went well..Rather easy it
was..
27th of jan 2010.
Tomorrow is going to be the last day at surgery ward..I planned to
write about my each and every extraction but i couldn't continue
it..Now finally the last day has arrived.I've no idea whether i've
achieved my target of 200 extractions or not,but lets not take any
tension because it doesn't matter..I gave block to my 1st pt
today, after awhile dr.Manal came and told that it was HCV+ pt
gun..Wel,i had those sinkin feelin, wat if i've injected the virus into
my normal healthy patient..Madam scolded me n also that HO,and asked
me not to inform the patient..I wasn't satisfied,i saw dr.Atta.Told
him the whole story,he said not to worry, give some good M/W to the
patient,and she'l be fine inshALLAH..I desperately hope she'll be..The
guilt i feel :-( it wasn't intentional. It was mismanagement on the
part of that HO.May be i should have confirmed about the gun,but it
never crossed my mind that i might be using a contaminated gun on a
healthy patient..:-( oh God..
